AMSOIL Diesel Cold Flow Improver
A premium fuel additive that lowers
diesel fuel cold flow properties as much as 20°F
(11°C).
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
AMSOIL Cold Flow Improver for diesel
fuel is designed for use in Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel
fuel (ULSD) and conventional fuels. It functions by
modifying wax crystal formation at low temperatures
to depress the pour point and improve cold flow filtration
properties. AMSOIL Cold Flow Improver contains jet
fuel-type deicer to help prevent ice formation in
fuels contaminated with water. It is recommended for
use with all diesel engines and is compatible with
diesel exhaust particulate filters (DPFs). AMSOIL
Cold Flow Improver is recommended for use in #2 diesel
fuel, #1 diesel fuel, kerosene, heating oil and biodiesel.
Add AMSOIL Cold Flow Improver to diesel fuel above
the fuel cloud point, which is the temperature wax
crystals begin to form. Diesel fuel cloud point varies
greatly with some lesser-quality diesel fuels forming
wax as warm as 40° F (4°C). AMSOIL recommends
treating diesel fuel at a minimum of 32°F (0°C),
insuring the fuel is properly treated inmost every
case. AMSOIL Cold Flow Improver is designed to control
wax crystal formation. It does not reverse wax or
gel once formed.
Note – Do not store below 0°F
(-18°C) as product will solidify in its concentrated
state when not mixed with fuel. However, once combined
with diesel fuel, it effectively lowers diesel fuel
cold filter plugging performance as much as 20°F
(11°C). It treats at one ounce per five gallons
of fuel and is excellent for use with AMSOIL Diesel
Concentrate and AMSOIL Cetane
Boost Additive.
 Why
do you need Cold Flow Improver?
Because gelled fuel will not flow
and diesel operators can get caught with a rig that
will not run. Wax forms platelets that clog filters.
AMSOIL Cold Flow Improver modifies the wax crystal
formation allowing the fuel to flow.
